After that, the school of mining became the polytechnic of Wales, and in 1992, it was promoted to the status of university of Glamorgan. Finally, in April 2013, the University of Glamorgan and the University of Wales, Newport merged to form the University of South Wales (USW).

Facilities:
Airport Welcome Service:
We may arrange arrival services for you when you first arrive in the UK to make your journey to the University as straightforward as possible. These services are available all year at Cardiff International Airport (CWL) and Heathrow Airport (LHR), both in London. Cardiff Airport is always our first choice because it is the nearest airport to the University. We can arrange a complimentary taxi transfer from Cardiff Airport to your University of South Wales residence. You must book a cab at least five working days before your trip. We may arrange for a university representative to meet you at Heathrow Airport for a meet and greet service. The salesman will then guide you to a location where you may acquire University transportation tickets, such as bus, train, or taxi.
Accommodation on campus, off campus:
All first-year undergraduate, postgraduate, and international students will be housed. All full-time students will be provided a single occupancy room in one of our resident halls or through one of our registered hall providers.
The University of South Wales provides its own free student housing search engine. Studentpad allows you to search for private student houses, apartments, and accommodations in South Wales and the rest of the UK.
We have verified that all of these properties are fully licensed (where applicable), have the requisite health and safety papers, and are Rent Smart Wales approved. Rental agencies can be a convenient method to find a home, but they frequently charge administrative fees, and you are not assured to obtain better housing simply because you found it through an agency. Look for approved rental companies. When looking for a place to live in Cardiff, keep an eye on Cardiff Digs, which has a list of student-friendly landlords and rental agents in the city.
Part time work: Job Fairs
We guarantee our students part-time work 100 percent of the time. Careers Connect, Gov.uk-find a job, and Indeed are three of the most popular websites for looking for part-time work. CareerConnect is the USW Careers database, which promotes both part-time and graduate opportunities.
